Q. Are there 2 separate events on each day, since there’s an entry fee for both days?

A. Yes, the racers can participate in 1 or both days.

 

Q. How do the classes break down?

A. It’s a 1/8th mile track and the classes are Super Pro 4.40 to 7.73 seconds, Pro 6.40 to      8.87 seconds, and Sportman/Street 8.20 and up.

 

Q. Is it a heads up, bracket racing?

A. We normally do only bracket racing, however if the Mustangs want to run in their own class and prefer heads up, we can do so

 

Q. What are the requirements for the track/

A. Helmets, Seatbelts, and an Overflow tank on the radiator for all classes, fire jacket, roll bar, etc., for anything faster than 6.40 or burning alcohol, same NHRA rules nation wide with the exception of the time slots which are adjusted for altitude. The rules can be seen at www. NHRA.com.

 

Q. Helmets for faster than 13.9 seconds?? Fire jackets? Is it the same NHRA rule everywhere? Can the track fill Nitrous tanks?

A. Yes, normally we have a local speed shop trailer at the track that fills Nitrous, has Race Gas and Methanol (Alcohol) as well as some racing parts, fire suits, etc. 

 

Q.If so how much?

A. It is the same price that it would be if one went to the local fill station in Sturgis or Rapid.  Currently I think Nitrous is around $4.00 or $4.50 a pound but as with gasoline, it varies a bit dependent upon the market price.

 

Q. If there isn't a class for the mustangs who else is running?

A. Their will be a full field of our normal racers for the event, usually around 15 to 20 Super Pro's, 30 to 45 Pro's and about the same for the Sportsman/Street Class.

 

Q. And if there is a mustang only class is it broken up into a heads up, bracket racing fast cars, then slower cars? or how is it broken up?

A. We will run the Mustang class any way they want, but with any event, it is sort of dependent upon the number of entrants.  If we end up with only a hand full of Mustangs that actually want to race, it wouldn't be much fun for them to only make a couple runs and then be finished.  We also allow "Buy Backs" in our normal races which is $20 after the 1st round of elimination's only.
